Bird flight (slow motion video) 

Birds, of course, provided the inspiration that heavier-than-air flight was possible. However, designing an airplane that uses the same mechanism of flight as birds (flapping wings) has proven impractical. Have students observe the slow motion video of birds in flight and describe multiple changes in a bird’s wing shape and movement as they fly.
