“Books for Correlated Reading”, Vol. 1: updated lists uploaded

The “Books for Correlated Reading” listed at the end of each BFSU lesson are now old and many are difficult or impossible to find. An updated list of “correlated readings” for all Volume 1 lessons follows below. Additionally, the readings specific to each lesson (Volume 1) have been uploaded to the respective lesson site. (Use the “forum” to click your way to the individual lesson and find “Extra Readings uploaded 2023” at the head of the list. A devoted BFSU user and children’s librarian, Carol Richey, is responsible for these as well as past lists. My many thanks to her.

Remember that these lists are in no way required reading. They are intended to provide an avenue for creating a synergy between developing reading skills and learning science. As your kids read each of these books with you, discuss how it relates to/reinforces/expands on, or differs from what they have learned from the text.
