In Lesson A-19 students learned that many elements occur as a variety of isotopes. Review what that means. Most isotopes are stable; they remain the same forever. However certain isotopes of certain elements are unstable. As they “fall” into a more stable state, they eject a particle or radiation. The following is an fun animated video depicting this process:
