We often ask kids, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Obviously, they can only answer and aspire to a field that is within their experience and this is too often severely limited. I think it would would serve us well to talk to our kids about fields in science and technology. For example, the following article concerning the development of paints that are more efficient at reflecting heat has just come to my attention. Such coatings may play a large role in countering global warming. As such one can see countless career opportunities ranging from the science and technology of developing and producing such coatings through their sales and application. Let’s share other examples of where kids may become involved in new or emerging technologies
