How sound travels from the vibrating object to the ear.

This video animation illustrates how sound moves, via a percussion wave, from the the vibrating object to the ear. It further shows how those waves affect the ear drum and causing nerve impulses to be sent to the brain. It is the brain that turns them into our impression of sound. (Philosophy students like to argue about: Does sound exist if there are no ears to hear it?)
